DePauw Percussion Ensemble Performs Tuesday Night

April 22, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw Percussion Ensemble will perform on Tuesday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Thompson Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature works by four Slavic composers from Central/Eastern Europe including the American premiere of works by Marta Ptaszyńska and Ivo Petric. The event is free and open to the public.
Additional compositions by Igor Lešnik and Nebojša Živkovic will complete a program of traditional, rhythm-based works utilizing mostly drums and contemporary pieces alternating free and metered sections.
The ensemble is conducted by Amy Lynn Barber, dean of the DePauw University School of Music, who has worked closely with all four composers. The percussion ensemble is composed of students Aleksas Gylys, Alex Helm, and Matthew Rosensteele.
