Prof. Daniel Shannon Publishes, Organizes International Conference

April 29, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Daniel E. Shannon, associate professor of philosophy at DePauw University, is the author of two recently published works. Dr. Shannon contributes "Schelling's Philosophy of Mythology: The Value of Myth to Philosophy," chapter fourteen, to the book Mythos and Logos: How to Regain the Love of Wisdom. Meanwhile, his article, "Religion and Its Relation to the State: An Analysis of Hegel's Position," appears in Skepsis: A Journal for Philosophy and Inter-Disciplinary Research (Vol. XV, No. 1, 2004).
Additionally, Professor Shannon is serving as conference organizer for 6th World Congress of the Society of International Dialogue at University of Helsinki. With the theme, "Humanity at the Turning Point, Rethinking Nature, Culture, and Freedom," the conference will take place July 15-20, 2005 in Finland.
