Loren Faulkner '04 Finds Family Bonds Even Stronger After 9/11 Tragedy
June 22, 2004
June 22, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Loren Faulkner "has just graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and is about to begin an eight-year graduate program at the University of Cincinnati, simultaneously earning a medical degree and a Ph.D. in chemistry. She considered several programs before deciding on UC, and will probably live at home in Mason at least a year," notes the Cincinnati Enquirer. Faulkner, her younger sister Ashley, and her father Lynn, are profiled in a story that examines how they've become even closer as a family since Loren's mother, Wendy, was killed in the terror attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
In the article, entitled "Father's Day is poignant since wife's death on 9/11," Loren Faulkner tells the newspaper, "He's a good dad. I would've always told you that. He's been my best friend since I can remember. And he still is."
