DePauw and Wabash Battle to 7-7 Tie
November 17, 1956
November 11, 1956, Crawfordsville, Ind. - On paper, this was a game that Wabash -- which came into the game with a record of 6 and 2 -- should have won. But the DePauw Tigers, who entered the 1956 Monon Bell Classic with a 1-6 mark, proved that season records don't mean a thing when the prized trophy of one of college football's oldest rivalries is on the line.
DePauw, led by coach Bob Hicks, battled Wabash to a 7-7 tie, keeping the Bell in Greencastle for another year.
