Jill Swisher Muti '84 New Head of School at SC's Ashley Hall

October 19, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Jill Swisher Muti, a 1984 graduate of DePauw University, has been named head of school at Ashley Hall, an independent college preparatory school located in Charleston, South Carolina. Muti previously served as assistant head of school at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. A story in the Charleston Post and Courier notes, "She brings with her over 16 years of experience in teaching, administration and fine arts. At Ravenscroft, Muti also serves as chairman and director of the Fine Arts Center and teaches instrumental music. In 1996, she founded the 'Spoleto Study Abroad' program, a nonprofit organization that provides arts and humanities studies for secondary students and faculty each year during Italy's Spoleto Festival. She received a master of arts degree from Duke University and a bachelor of music degree from DePauw University."
A news release at Ashley Hall's Web site adds, "Muti has several programmatic initiatives underway. She has already established institutional technological competency standards, and re-shaped the academic committee to define, plan and evaluate all programs as they relate to Ashley Hall’s mission."
