April 28, 1990
April 28, 1990, Greencastle, Ind. - "We've worked with a lot of guidance counselors for minority students, we've had increasing numbers of minority students visit the campus," DePauw President Robert G. Bottoms says in a news story that's airing on CNN today. The cable network examines DePauw's efforts to increase its diversity by more aggressively recruiting African-American students.
The story also contains an interview with Stanley Warren, associate dean of the University. He tells CNN, "What we do is try to create an atmosphere where students know that there's a place for them."
