DePauw's Art Attack: An Afternoon of Free Fun for Area Kids This Sunday

November 4, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Children of all ages are invited to an exciting afternoon of performances, workshops and hands-on art activities this Sunday, November 7, from noon to 5 p.m. in DePauw University's Performing Arts Center. Art Attack is the culminating event of DePauw University's 12-day arts celebration, Art Fest 2004: art & technology. In its third year, Art Attack is an opportunity for DePauw students to share their artistic talents and passions with area children.
DePauw Theatre, student organizations, honorary societies, sororities and fraternities, and several talented individuals are all planning to contribute to the fun-filled afternoon. Hands-on activities such as book making, accessory making, a musical instrument petting zoo, make-your-own instruments, pet rocks, and bubble paintings will be available throughout the afternoon.
DePauw Theatre will present a Theatre for Young Audiences performance of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women at 2:30 p.m. in Moore Theatre. Across the hall in Kerr Theatre will be performances by the DePauw Gospel Choir, the dance troupe X-CELL, the student improv group unIMPROVable, and the DePauw musical theatre class. In addition, students will be offering a storytelling event, a poetry workshop, and a participatory drum circle. Rounding out the offerings is a screening of the film Shrek 2 at 12:30 p.m. presented by the Union Board.
