DePauw’s increase is among the smallest announced by any college or university thus far for the coming year. Several state universities are boosting their costs by more than double DePauw’s percentage.

DePauw’s 2005-06 costs are:

  • Tuition $26,100tech classroom.jpg
  • Room $3,900
  • Board $3,600
  • Health Service Fee $210
  • Student Activity Fee $160

“Next year’s increase is modest relative to recent increases at other private and flagship state colleges and universities,” Speller adds. “We believe that these changes represent appropriate and competitive pricing for the outstanding faculty, excellent programs and educational facilities at DePauw. The administrative staff and the Board of Trustees are committed to managing the University’s resources efficiently, offering students the many special features of a DePauw education at the lowest possible cost.”

For five consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked DePauw University in the top tier of America's national liberal arts colleges (read more here). The 2005 edition of the Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 331 Most Interesting Colleges two-students.jpgranks DePauw #4 in the nation in the percentage of full-time undergraduates receiving merit-based financial aid (45%), and #2 in average amount received per student ($12,134).
