March 30, 2005
March 30, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "Humans must be protected from the invading aliens, the Cyclopeans, as well as their own leaders in this science fiction tale by Casper writer Steven Douglas Womack," notes Wyoming's Jackson Hole Star-Tribune. Womack, a 1975 graduate of DePauw University, has just published a science fiction novel, Cyclopean Rescue.
"It's the year 2218 and the young fighter pilot, James Poole, is out for revenge," the newspaper's Holly Strother writes in a synopsis of Womack's book. "He plans to make the invading Cyclopeans pay for the death of his father and those of billions of humans." The publisher adds, "In an exciting adventure that begins in his native Indianapolis and crosses the stars to the alien enemy's homeworld, James Poole learns the heavy costs of revenge and gets a chance at redemption as he searches for his Cyclopean rescue."
The article points out that "Womack and his wife, Debra, live in Casper with their three children. He is an adjunct teacher at Casper College and teaches American History and Western Civilization. He received a Ph.D. in American History from Ball State University and did his undergraduate work at DePauw University, both in Indiana."
