Alumnus and Current Student to Share Perspectives at Community Convocation Monday
March 31, 2005
March 31, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Marvin E. Flewellen, a 1985 graduate of DePauw University and member of DePauw's Board of Trustees, will present the keynote address at the next Community Convocation, Monday, April 4. Flewellen, a client portfolio manager at Invesco in Louisville, Kentucky, will discuss "Carrying the DePauw Experience into the Real World." His speech will begin at 7 p.m. in Meharry Hall of historic East College. All are invited to attend.
Nicole Halper, a current DePauw senior, will also participate in the evening's program. While Flewellen will discuss how his DePauw experience has positively impacted his personal and professional life before and since graduation, Halper will share reflections on her experiences at DePauw as she approaches graduation and how she hopes they will carry her into the future. Both will be available to answer questions following their remarks.
“We anticipate that the reflections offered by Mr. Flewellen and Ms. Halper will be insightful to current students as they continue to intentionally develop their path at DePauw as well as to our graduating seniors who prepare to put their DePauw experiences to use in their new life journeys,” says Cara Brumby, assistant dean of students and director of community development. “It should be beneficial and informative for all students.”
