Joe Nixon '02 Participating in USBL Team's Veterans' Camp

April 15, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - The Kansas Cagerz of the United States Basketball League (USBL) "have added 6-5 guard Joe Nixon" to their veterans' camp roster. A report in Kansas' Salina Journal continues, "Nixon is a 2002 graduate of DePauw (Ind.) University and has played overseas since then, most recently this winter in Iran." The Cagerz open their 2005 season next Thursday.

Joe Nixon ranks fourth on DePauw's all-time list for points scored in a career (1,546); eighth for points per game (15.6); sixth for field goals made (555); second for 3-point field goals made (184); eighth for 3-point field goal percentage (.420); and third for free throw percentage (.832).
The USBL has provided an opportunity for players to improve and showcase their skills for the National Basketball Association, Continental Basketball Association and International clubs around the world. Through its first sixteen seasons of operation, the USBL has been the springboard for numerous professional playing careers. One hundred and fifty former USBL players have reached the NBA ranks while 78 players have been selected in the NBA Draft.
