Albert Lund established the scholarship in 1999, to reward members of his fraternity for their dedication to academics roy o west library spring.jpgand their involvement in campus and community activities. Mr. Lund passed away in 2003.

"My father's experiences as a Phi Delt at DePauw shaped and enriched his life," says Larry Lund '77, the son of Albert Lund and also a Phi Delt, who returned to campus to announce the scholarship recipients. "When my father was alive, he viewed the Lund Scholarship program as a way he could give something back to the university and fraternity he loved so much and stay connected with the students of today. He developed many friendships with the early Lund Scholars, and the program still stands as a tribute to his legacy and a vehicle to create opportunities for new generations of scholars."

Larry Lund was joined by other members of the Lund Scholarship committee -- Glenn Davis '79, Ed Gower '77, and Lindsey Lund Peterik '74 -- as well as a number of DePauw faculty members who attended the April 13 scholarship dinner where the Lund Scholars were announced.

"My father was a Rector Scholar at DePauw, and without that money could not have attended this University," added Larry Lund. "DePauw and Phi Delta Theta were two of his greatest loves, and his gifts ensure that both remain strong."
