Senior Jessica Beeson Elected Co-Chair of College Republican National Committee

June 28, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "A Kokomo native took office as the new co-chair of the College Republican National Committee this morning," begins a story that began airing last night on Bloomington, Indiana National Public Radio affiliate WFIU. "DePauw University senior Jessica Beeson says she will be the director of the CRNC's outreach program and will assist with fundraising. She now serves as chair of the Indiana Federation of College Republicans."
Beeson tells the radio station that part of her job will be to ensure the Republican Party reaches out to the current generation of college students. [Download Audio: "Reaching Out" - 302kb] "We believe that the Republican Party is very applicable and interesting and should work more with African-Americans, Hispanics and women. So my job is to make sure that our party reaches out to this generation of Republicans, aimed at that demographic."

Jessica Beeson will serve as co-chair alongside Paul Gourley. Gourley and Beeson were elected over the weekend by college G.O.P. delegates from across the nation.
