Historian David Witwer '85 Invited to Harvard Seminar

July 26, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - David S. Witwer, associate professor and chair of history at Lycoming College and 1985 graduate of DePauw University, "is one of 24 historians selected for a special seminar at Harvard University this summer," notes a news item in Pennsylvania's Williamsport Sun-Gazette. Dr. Witwer participated in "Interpreting the History of Recent and Controversial Events" at Harvard's Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History last month.
"Witwer's specialties are the history of organized crime and the history of the Teamsters Union," the article states. "He joined the Lycoming College faculty in 1994. He has a bachelor's degree from DePauw University and doctorate from Brown University."
Professor Witwer authored the book, Corruption and Reform in the Teamsters Union, named one of Choice magazine's outstanding academic books for 2004. Read more by clicking here.
