Meleah Rush '98 and Angie Hamilton-Lowe '00 Accept Edward R. Murrow Awards

RTNDA Award 2005.jpgOctober 24, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Two DePauw University alumnae collected Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). Angie Hamilton-Lowe, a 2000 graduate, was honored for "best news series- large market radio," while Meleah Rush '98 accepted the award for "best non-broadcast affiliated Web site- mall category." The awards were presented at the RTNDA awards dinner October 17, 2005, at the Grand Hyatt New York. (photo shows, l-r, Angie Hamilton-Lowe and Meleah Rush)

Hamilton-Lowe was honored for Subculture, a one-hour special of underground stories and vignettes honoring the New York subway centennial. The program aired on WFUV, a public radio station based at Fordham University in New York City. Murrow Award.jpg

Rush accepted the Murrow Award on behalf of her employer, The Center for Public Integrity, a non-profit, non-partisan investigative reporting and research organization based in Washington, D.C. Both women were Media Fellows at DePauw.

The RTNDA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971.
