mitchell street band.jpgNovember 9, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "A cover band is going to play Top 40 songs that fit with the instruments they have, and they're going to stop after each song," Eugene McGhee tells the Indiana Daily Student of the Mitchell Street Band, which he plays bass in. "A party band like (Mitchell Street Band) has a longer mix of music and is going to include things like disco and reggae. We play ten songs in a row, nonstop, so you get 30 minutes of continuous music." The story notes, "McGhee graduated from DePauw University in 2002 with a music business degree."

The article points out that the band's origins can be traced to a cruise ship, where some of the members provided the onboard entertainment. "They say they have the sound of Maroon 5 with Jamiroquai's energy," writes Kevin Caldwell of the band that plays throughout the Midwest but has national ambitions. Read more by clicking here.
