Creator of DePauw's Butler Family Sculpture Garden Honored by Purchase College

January 8, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - "Professor Bowen, who is progressing from her recent completion of a permanent outdoor sculptural installation on the DePauw University campus, proposes to continue her work blending landscape architecture and sculpture," notes the announcement that Nancy Bowen has received the Junior Faculty Development Program Award from Purchase College, the State University of New York. Bowen, an assistant professor of sculpture at Purchase, "will use the award to conceive and construct a series of sculptures, which heightens the play between artifice and nature by employing water elements, and can be shown both outside and indoors."

Nancy Bowen was the Lee G. Hall Distinguished Visiting Professor of Art at DePauw in the Fall of 2003 and created the Butler Family Sculpture Garden, which is seen in the photos that accompany this story.
