Mike Smith '70 Elected to Vectren Corporation Board

February 22, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Michael L. Smith, a 1970 graduate of DePauw University, has been elected to the board of directors of Vectren Corporation (NYSE: VVC), the company announced today. Smith most recently served as the chief financial officer of Anthem, Inc., and is the former chairman, president and CEO of Mayflower Group, Inc.

"Mike Smith is one of the brightest, most successful business minds in the state of Indiana," says Niel C. Ellerbrook, chairman, president and CEO of Vectren. "Mike's financial expertise combined with his broad array of business experience makes him a valued addition to our board."
