Dan Quayle '69, Michael Jordan and Others to Raise Funds for Military Charities in Weekend Golf Tournament

May 17, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Dan Quayle -- the 44th Vice President of the United States and 1969 graduate of DePauw University -- will join other celebrities including Michael Jordan, Dan Marino and Olympian Dan Jansen who are playing in the 3rd Annual Marine Corps Celebrity Invitational, which begins tomorrow and continues through Sunday at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. "The event is free and open to the public, and all proceeds will go towards three military-themed charities: the USO of North Carolina, Project CARE and Disabled Sports USA," notes the Daily News of Jacksonville, N.C.
Noting Quayle's participation, "The celebrity invitational is one of Paradise Point's biggest events... Besides golf, there's a number of sports clinics offered by the pros in tennis, golf, skateboarding and bowling. Plus, on Saturday night, there will be 'Family Night with the Stars,' where folks can enjoy a barbeque dinner and have a chance to get some autographs."
