D. Scott Looney '86 Becomes 10th Headmaster of Hawken School

August 15, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - D. Scott Looney, a 1986 graduate of DePauw University, will be formally installed as the 10th headmaster of Hawken School in Ohio on Sunday, August 27. At the 2 p.m. ceremony, Hawken will also dedicate its new, $12 million middle school building. Looney, who was previously assistant director of Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, assumed his new position last month.
U.S. Newswire reports, "A native of Chicago, Looney is a graduate of DePauw and Northwestern and is a widely published author on educational affordability ... Pat Bassett, president of the National Association of Independent Schools, calls Looney 'a rising star among leaders of the independent school world.'"
