Wine Company Led by Bob Torkelson '82 is USA's Sixth Largest

August 18, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Trinchero Family Estates -- led by president and chief operating officer Bob Torkelson, a 1982 graduate of DePauw University -- was #6 among the "Top 30 U.S. Wine Companies of 2005," according to Wine Business Monthly. Trinchero is one of the largest remaining family-owned wineries and the largest based in Napa Valley. Its brands include Sutter Home, alcohol-free Fre, Trichero, Montevina, Trinity Oaks, and Trinchero. Its 2005 U.S. sales totaled 9,300,000 cases.

Bob Torkelson assumed the top position at Trinchero Family Estates in May 2004. An economics major at DePauw, he started all four years at linebacker for DePauw's football team and was inducted into the DePauw Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
