A 1988 graduate of DePauw, Mills wound up serving as a Division II head baseketball coach for twelve years at Armstrong State (now Armstrong Atlantic) and Tusculum College in Tennessee. As reported here in June 2005, Mills is nowassistant principal and athletic director at Tecumseh High School, located west of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
"My father-in-law became ill and I told my wife [Tybe] that if she got a teaching job closer to her parents [in Michigan] I’d put my resignation in," Mills tells the Tribune-Star, which details the couple's move, first to Ypsilanti and then Tecumseh.
