September 16, 2006
September 16, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - "The lure of his hometown -- and his home team -- was too enticing to turn down for Mike Henn," reports Indiana's Richmond Palladium-Item. Henn, a 1980 DePauw University graduate who is director of sales development for Pacers Sports & Entertainment, will also now spend part of his weekends as the football play-by-play radio voice for his alma mater, Richmond High School. The games are broadcast on WKBV/1490 AM.
"I am excited," Henn tells the newspaper. "I used to do it in college." The text adds, "Henn went to DePauw, where he first did play-by-play for sports events." He served as sports director of DePauw's student radio station, WGRE.
Henn filled in on the Red Devils' September 1 game. "They asked me to do the rest of the season. The Pacers season doesn't conflict."
