Jeff Voris '90, Butler Football Coach and Former DePauw QB, Prepares to Face Familiar Foe
September 28, 2006
September 28, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Jeff Voris, head football coach at Butler University and 1990 graduate of DePauw, "may be new to the Pioneer Football League, but he's mastered the art of talking up his opponent," reports the Dayton Daily News. Voris' Bulldogs take on Dayton this weekend. "They're the benchmark program in our league," he tells the newspaper.
Mark Gokavi writes, "University of Dayton football coach Mike Kelly said Butler looks different under first-year head coach Jeff Voris. Voris said UD looks like it did in the mid-to-late 1980s. 'It seems like it's the same team that I played against all those years ago,' said Voris, a quarterback for DePauw against UD in 1986 and '87. 'They are extremely well-coached. They don't beat themselves. They believe they're going to win. They find ways to win. They're a physical football team.'"
Butler is 1-3 on the season under its new coach. Dayton is 3-0.
