Kelly Morrison '99 Prepares for First Season as HS Basketball Head Coach

October 29, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - "It’s exciting," says Kelly A. Morrison of her new job. The 1999 DePauw University graduate has been promoted to the head basketball coach of Indiana's North Decatur High School girl's basketball team. As the Greensburg Daily News reports, Morrison has served as coach of the Chargers reserve basketball team for the past two seasons. She replaces longtime coach Dennis Crowe, who retired.The newspaper's Brent Luken writes, "Morrison graduated from Huntington North High School where she played basketball for the Vikings and won a state championship her senior season. Upon graduation, she attended DePauw University in Greencastle were she continued her basketball career. While at DePauw, her and the rest of her teammates made three appearances in the NCAA tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 round twice."
"I’m anxious to get the season started. I feel better and less nervous now that the first practice is out of the way," Morrison tells the Daily News. "I think we should have and exciting season. We have a lot of experience and a lot of inexperience, but I feel confident that the girls will be ready to play."
