DePauw earns first trip to NCAA Softball Championship

May 7, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - The 32-5 DePauw softball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship and opens regional play on Thursday, May 10, at Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. The appearance is the school's first in Division III softball.

The Tigers earned the number two seed in the regional and face seventh-seeded Allegheny (18-17) at 4 p.m. at Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio.

DePauw finished third at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship in San Antonio in late April and has won a school-record 32 games this season. Over the last two seasons, the Tigers have posted a combined 63-15 mark.
