DePauw Student Journalists Dominate 2007 'Best in Indiana' Awards

May 11, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University student journalists dominated the 2007 "Best in Indiana" contest, sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists. WGRE reporters swept the first place awards in all four college radio categories, while The DePauw took first place in seven of twelve newspaper awards.
DePauw entrants competed against student journalists from all Indiana colleges and universities, large and small. The honorees produced work that was published or broadcast in 2006.

- Best In-Depth or Series Reporting, First Place: Brandon Gee
- Best Page One Layout/Design, First Place: Adam McClean, Kali Geldis, Matt Welch
- Best Editorial Writing, Second Place: Brandon Gee, Laura Kelley, Liesl Goecker, Matt Jackson, Mike Morris and Ashley Baxstrom

- Best Radio News Event Coverage, First Place: Jessie Hemmelgarn
