Political Philosopher Wendy Brown Speaks Wednesday

November 6, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Noted political philosopher Wendy Brown will come to the campus of DePauw University on Wednesday, November 7, to present the Walker Horizon Lecture in Political Science. Brown, professor of political science at the University of California, Berkeley, will discuss "Porous Sovereignty, Walled Democracy," at 6:30 pm in the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media's Watson Forum. The program is free and open to all."'Porous Sovereignty, Walled Democracy' is a theoretical consideration of the paradox of the growing phenomenon of physical walls -- around nation states but also within them -- in the context of powers that are globalized and miniaturized," says Dr. Brown of her lecture topic.
