Brian Perry 93.jpgDecember 6, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "It's exciting watching the swimmers react, the looks on their faces when they come out of the water, glance at the scoreboard and see that they've posted a personal-best or broken a pool or meet record," says Brian Perry, after being asked by the Cleveland Plain Dealer what he enjoys most about coaching. "That, and watching your swimmers mature from freshmen to seniors and all the discipline that requires," he adds. Perry, swimming coach at University School, is a 1993 graduate of DePauw University.

The newspaper notes that Perry is "beginning his eighth season as swim coach, was an All-American swimmer at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. He swam for Library Snow December 2005.jpgthe Bloomington Swim Club while earning a law degree from Indiana University and practiced law for two years before becoming a math teacher and coach at US, his alma mater (1989). Perry, who is also an assistant varsity tennis coach, led the Preppers to fourth place at the state swimming meet with a team-record 160 points, just two points behind third-place Upper Arlington and more than they scored during their third-place finishes in 2004 and 2005."
