November 20, 1926
November 20, 1926, Greencastle, Ind. - A late touchdown gave Wabash College its sixth consecutive victory over arch rival DePauw University this afternoon, 6-0. The contest, played at DePauw's Blackstock Field, ends DePauw's season with a 4-3-1 record, while Wabash winds up at 5-4.
Today's outcome marks the Little Giants' sixth consecutive triumph and shutout in the rivalry, which began in 1890.
The game was a scoreless duel until late in the fourth quarter, when Wabash running backs Fred "Stew" Myers and Clarence Pease carried the ball for 43 yards and four first downs, culminating with a Myers touchdown plunge from one yard out with about three minutes remaining on the clock.
The Tigers made a desperate final attempt to respond, but a drive led by Dick Sturtridge ended 25 yards short of the goal line.
Wabash collected 13 first downs on the afternoon, compared with 7 for DePauw.
