52-Yard Drop Kick in Final Minute Ices Wabash, 3-0
November 20, 1920
November 20, 1920, Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw's Harold "Galloping" Galloway gave the University's football faithful a thrill this afternoon. With about a minute remaining in today's game at Washington Park, Galloway's drop kick from 52 yards out went squarely through the Wabash College goal posts, giving DePauw a 3-0 triumph in the annual rivalry game.
The Tigers and coach Edbert C. Buss close the 1920 season with a 5-2 record and victories in five of the last six contests. Wabash falls to 3-3, and has one game remaining versus Marquette.
Galloway's score represented the first points in a DePauw-Wabash game since 1918, as last season's battle ended in a scoreless draw. The student newspaper calls Galloway's winning effort "one of the finest drop kicks ever witnessed in Indiana."
