Prof. James Cooper Tapped for Membership in Student Honorary

April 27, 1967, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University students have selected James L. Cooper, assistant professor of history, for honorary membership in Gold Key, a leadership-scholarship society for junior men. Dr. Cooper (pictured with a cane symbolic of his selection) was cited for his outstanding teaching record at DePauw, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1964.
Cooper completed his undergraduate degree with Phi Beta Kappa honors at the College of Wooster, where he was editor of the campus newspaper and received the Galpin Prize for academic excellence and service to the institution. He received the M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin. He also taught in Ohio's public schools and at Oakland (Michigan) University.
