1954 Old Gold Goblet to Willis Conner Jr. '20

May 28, 1954, Greencastle, Ind. - Willis B. Conner Jr., vice president of the Merchants National Bank and Trust Company in Indianapolis and a member of DePauw's Class of 1920, is this year's recipient of the University's Old Gold Goblet. Awarded each year since 1941 by vote of the senior class, the goblet is given for "eminence in life's work and service to alma mater." A member of DePauw's Board of Trustees and Visitors, Mr. Conner was honored at the annual Senior-Alumni Dinner, which is presented as part of Senior Week. The event's keynote address was provided by Hiram L. Jome, head of DePauw's economics department. The audience also heard from the University's President, Russell J. Humbert, and Alumni Secretary Robert E. Crouch.
