April 27, 2009
April 27, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — The New York Jets' first-round pick in this year's National Football League draft, University of Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez, "is the youngest of three brothers and is scheduled to graduate next month with a degree in communications," notes New Jersey's Newark Star-Ledger. "His oldest brother, Nick Jr., is a former quarterback at Yale and now a lawyer. The middle brother, Brandon, was an offensive lineman at DePauw and is now a mortgage broker."
Brandon Sanchez is a member of DePauw University's Class of 2001.
"I'm just so proud of my boys," Sanchez's mom, Olga Marmoleja, tells the newspaper. "They kind of remind me of the Manning brothers, but it's only two of them."
Mark Sanchez, who led USC to the Rose Bowl, was the #5 pick in the draft.
You'll find the complete story, which includes a photo of the Sanchez family, at the Star-Ledger's Web site.
