Athletic Hall of Fame Inducts Six New Members Tonight

East College Dusk Oct 2008.jpgMay 2, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — "Former Valparaiso High School basketball coach Harley (Skip) Collins ['65] will be inducted into DePauw's 23rd Hall of Fame class Saturday," begins an article in the Gary Post-Tribune. "Others who will be inducted at DePauw are Charee Campbell Condict ['98] (swimming), Carl Meditch ['59] (basketball/baseball), Jeff Voris ['90] (football), Pete Land ['90] (baseball/soccer) and Melissa Terrill Spowal ['96] (field hockey)."

Of Collins, John Mutka writes, "The two-sport star played baseball for four years at the Greencastle campus and was named all-conference in 1965 after leading the Tigers in hitting. A rarity, he was a switch-hitting catcher. In basketball, he played for the legendary Elmer McCall. Collins served as DePauw's team captain in both sports in his senior season.
