Ashley Clark '09 and 18 Classmates Prepare to Teach For America

June 19, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Ashley R. Clark, a May 2009 graduate of DePauw University, "is a first generation college student who will be teaching at the elementary school level" through Teach For America, notes an article on induction week for new members of the TFA corps who will teach in the Nashville area. "She wants to help other students who may not have had the advantages she did, she said."
After the sessions at Lipscomb University and meeting with Teach for America alumni, Clark said, "It makes me want to inspire my students to dream big."

Ashley Clark is one of a record-high 19 new graduates of DePauw who are committed to Teach For America for the next two years. With about 4% of its graduating seniors entering TFA, DePauw is among the nation's strongest contributors to the program.
Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in ensuring educational equity and excellence for all children.
