August 5, 2009
August 5, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Jonathan R. Phillips, a 1995 graduate of DePauw University, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: STRM). Phillips has been serving on the board as an independent director since May 2005. Today's announcement from Streamline Health states that, "in an effort to further implement best practices for corporate governance, the company (has decided it) should have an independent, non-management director as the company's chairman of the board."
Phillips is a managing director and the founder of Healthcare Growth Partners, a provider of strategic and financial advisory services to healthcare technology companies.
"I appreciate the confidence placed in me by the board and I look forward to working with the board and the management team to move Streamline Health to the next level of its development," says Phillips. "The management team headed up by (CEO and former director of the board) Brian Patsy has made great strides in recent years in creating the products and services and the corporate infrastructure that position the company for growth. I expect to become even more active, working with Brian, in driving the company forward."
"I am pleased to have an industry professional with the experience and skill set of Jon Phillips appointed chairman of Streamline Health," adds Patsy. "Jon has been a strong voice on the board that I have relied on for advice and input and I look forward to working even more collaboratively with him in the coming years. As the company continues to grow, Jon's healthcare financing and strategic advisory expertise will be instrumental in Streamline Health's progression as an emerging leader in the healthcare information technology industry."
Before joining Healthcare Growth Partners, Phillips was a member of the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at William Blair and Company, LLC. He has also served in various roles in the healthcare practice of Deloitte Consulting.
Jon Phillips is also on the board of directors of Ophthalmic Imaging Systems, Inc., and has been a member of the advisory boards of DePauw's McDermond Center for Management and Entrepreneurship and the University's 361° program.
After graduating from DePauw, where he majored in economics and management, Phillips earned an M.B.A. from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
