"Full-Time Brother" Brandon Sanchez '01 in NY Daily News
September 5, 2009
September 5, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — The role of Brandon Sanchez, a member of DePauw University's Class of 2001, in the life of his brother, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, is noted in a New York Daily News article today. Rich Cimini writes, "Sanchez will be under a white-hot spotlight for the next 17 weeks, as he becomes the first rookie quarterback in Jets history to start opening day, but it won't be a one-man show. In the shadows, away from the glare, he will have a strong support system -- his family, mainly his older brothers." (photo, l-r: Nick Jr., Mark and Brandon Sanchez; courtesy Daily News)
Nick Sanchez Jr., the oldest brother is overseeing Mark's off-the-field business opportunities, while Brandon Sanchez has "left the West Coast and will live with his kid brother for his entire rookie season with the Jets. He calls himself Mark's 'point man' ... Brandon, formerly an offensive tackle at DePauw University in Indiana, handles the day-to-day stuff. That could range from setting up a bank account to dealing with ticket requests."
"Basically, I'm a full-time brother," he tells the newspaper.
