The session will provide the audience an opportunity to learn from panel members about their experiences that led to their successful careers in teaching. The event is free and open to the public.

Participants will be: Douglas Elmore ‘86, orchestra director, Floyd Central High School and Highland Hills Middle School, Floyds Knobs, Ind.; Michelle (Coduti) Howisen ‘05, choir director, Marian Catholic High School, Chicago Heights, Ill.; Joseph Lapka ‘99, band director, Center Grove High School, Greenwood, Ind.; Stephanie (Shafer) Pilcher ‘00, general music teacher, East Side Elementary School, Edinburgh, Ind.; Craig Pare Fall 2008 Conducting.JPGand Brian Willett ‘94, band director, Monrovia High School, Monrovia, Ind.

"We're extremely proud of all our music education graduates," says Craig Paré (pictured at right), professor of music and coordinator of the School of Music's music education program. "Each has found their own niche in elementary and secondary school music teaching, and it will be a pleasure to welcome these five dedicated alumni back so they can share their experiences, wisdom, and advice regarding music education with our current students. Together, they represent the best DePauw has to offer to the world of music education. Alumni enriching our current School of Music students is what DePauw University is known for, and it remains one of our greatest strengths as an academic and musical institution."
