December 20, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — "DePauw junior wide receiver Alex Koors (Cathedral) was selected to the NCAA Division III All-America first team offense," notes today's Indianapolis Star. "Koors caught 73 passes this season for a school-record 1,266 yards," adds the item in the "College Football Notebook." "His 13 touchdown receptions were the second most in a DePauw season."
The selections were announced before yesterday's Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia.
Koors becomes the fourth DePauw player to earn All-America honors from D3football.com. JaMarcus Shephard was a first team return specialist in 2003, while Tyler Kelley earned honorable mention in 1999 as a tight end and Dustin Hertel did the same as a defensive end in 2006.
Koors was the 2009 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and earned D3football.com First Team All-South Region honors.
