March 18, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — "Bob McDonald comes across as a guy who could tell you to go to hell in a way that you'd look forward to the trip," Vernon Jordan tells USA Today. McDonald, chief executive officer of Procter & Gamble, is profiled in the newspaper.  Jordan, the attorney and civil rights legend who is a 1957 graduate of DePauw University, serves on Xerox's board of directors with McDonald.

Vernon E. Jordan Jr. is the former president of the National Urban League and served as an adviser to Presidents Clinton and Carter. Currently a director of Lazard Ltd. and Lazard Group and senior counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Jordan serves as an advisory member of DePauw's Board of Trustees.

In December 2009, Jordan was one of eight individuals presented with the Du Bois Medal, the highest honor awarded by the Harvard University Institute of Politics' W.E.B. Du Bois Institute.
