Agency Founded by Doug Davidson '80 Now Known as Alacrity Creative
May 17, 2010
May 17, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Spark Communications, a Dallas agency founded in 1999 by W. Douglas Davidson, a 1980 graduate of DePauw University, has changed its name to Alacrity Creative. Davidson, who is principal of the firm, notes that alacrity means eager responsiveness and cheerful speed. "It does a great job capturing our focus on results-driven creativity and outstanding client service," he says.
An item at Yahoo! Finance notes that the agency began with an emphasis on copywriting. "The new name marks the start of the firm's second decade in business and a five-year shift in its focus and services," it states.
"Early on, 90 percent of our business was copywriting," Davidson says. "But around 2005, clients began to ask us for more -- communications strategy, graphic design for web and print, and total project management. We still love to write copy; we've just added to the mix."
