Provine Puga Blues.jpgMay 21, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Members of a Greencastle-based band, Blues Side Up, will hold a party tonight to mark the release of their new compact disc, Grey. The four-member ensemble includes Alejandro Puga and Rick Provine.  "Puga also likes the spirit of community cooperation the band displays," writes Jared Jernagan in the Banner-Graphic, adding, "Puga is a Spanish professor at DePauw, while Provine is DePauw's director of libraries. "The thing I like is it's 50-50 town and gown," says Puga, assistant professor of modern languages, who plays harmonica for Blues Side Up. "It's a great example of how relationships can be formed from a point of interest."

The article describes how Puga and Provine teamed up with local musicians Jonathan January and Steve St. Pierre for the blues EP which was produced by George Marinelli, who has performed with Bonnie Raitt and Bruce Hornsby and the Range.
