October 3, 1964, Greencastle, Ind. — Edgar A. Prevo, a longtime Greencastle businessman and member of DePauw University's Class of 1912, is providing $300,000 to help fund a new Science and Mathematics Center planned for his alma mater. Word of Prevo's gift came today from DePauw President William E. Kerstetter at the Old Gold Convocation.
The building, which is still in the planning stages, will replace Minshall Lab, which was constructed in 1902.
The gift by the 77-year-old Prevo is the latest in a long line he has made to DePauw. He also provided funds which made possible the University's Memorial Student Union, Roy O. West Library and Bishop Roberts Hall.
Gobin Methodist Church and DePauw's chapter of Sigma Delta Chi fratenity have also benefited from Prevo's generosity.
