102863September 26, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. —  "A native of Glen Ellyn, Ill., she always knew she wanted to be a pastor and attended DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind., focusing on religious studies," notes a Michigan City News Dispatch story on the Rev. "I saw my faith in the simplest terms," she tells the newspaper. "My studies helped me understand God is less about boundaries than humanity would like to believe. I also began to
understand my call as a woman in theology ... and developed an appreciation for other religions. I studied them and respected them, but it also strengthened my faith as a Christian."

The article notes that after graduating from DePauw, Ericka Parkinson 99723Kilbourne attended Princeton Theological Seminary and is working on her doctorate of ministry through McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.
