Tim Clark '87 Endeavors to "Change Families and Transform Lives"
May 28, 2012
"(I) lead all aspects of an organization that is attempting to change families and transform lives in South Minneapolis," Timothy S. Clark, chief executive officer of Urban Ventures, tells the Pioneer Press of the Twin Cities. The newspaper's profile of the 1987 DePauw University graduate notes that Clark leads "a faith-based community organization working to end the cycle of generational poverty in South Minneapolis, serving more than 3,000 people annually through teaching, mentoring and creating jobs."
Clark, who majored in economics at DePauw and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, came to his new post after spending nineteen years at CarVal Investors. He calls his first day at Urban Ventures "very humbling. From leading an institutional investment management business to one in which your teammates and employees work hard because of their hearts -- well, it's just special."
He says he was drawn to the position because of "the ability to capitalize on the success of the past and lead into a new direction for the future."
