September 8, 2012
Kim (Allee) Allen, a 1988 graduate of DePauw University, has joined the staff at Roseleaf Academy in Farmville, North Carolina. Allen "will teach history-literature classes as well as cursive writing and Latin" at the Roseleaf, a middle school for girls, reports the Greenville Daily Reflector.
"Allen has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in classical studies from DePauw University," the newspaper adds. "She also has a master’s degree in special education with a concentration in learning disabilities from UNC-Chapel Hill. In addition, she completed an internship with the Hill Center in Durham and is working toward a teaching-level certification in multisensory language education and a Reading Strategies certificate."
"We are very excited to have a teacher of Kim’s caliber and experience join us to help provide a rigorous history-literature program and expand our humanities course offerings," says Lori Drake, headmistress of Roseleaf Academy.
Allen states, "I am thrilled with the classical approach to education that Roseleaf Academy uses, and I am very excited to be teaching in their beautiful new facility."
