TV Station On Hand for Tiger 'Sweet 16' Basketball Victory Over Carthage

"Savannah Trees took over in the second half, and so did DePauw," noted WTHR's Rich Nye in a report on tonight's 73-54 victory over Carthage College at Neal Fieldhouse. The Indianapolis NBC affiliate was on hand as the Tigers advanced to the "Elite Eight" of the NCAA Division III tournament with a win.

The Tigers advance to play Wisconsin-Whitewater tomorrow night in a rematch of last year's national championship game, which DePauw won.

The highlights, which appeared on the station's 11 p.m. newscast, are embedded below.

The station's 6 p.m. sportscast was led by a live report from the Lilly Center. Nye previewed the game and included footage from the Tigers' February 8 victory over Hiram College, which WTHR also covered. The early newscast segment can be seen below.
