Newspaper Spotlights Katie Ukrop '91

"Mistakes and missteps are the best ways to learn lessons -- about your business and about yourself," says Katie Ukrop, director of Quirk Gallery in Richmond, Virginia, and 1991 graduate of DePauw University. Featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, she tells the newspaper, "I probably can’t pinpoint one specific example but in the last 10 years of being at Quirk Gallery and throughout this hotel experience, I’ve learned a lot. The piece notes that she and her husband, Ted Ukrop '89, are co-owners of the soon-to-open 75-room Quirk Hotel + Gallery, a boutique hotel and new site for the gallery/shop.
