Prof. Neal Allen '98 Among Presenters at Conference on 'J. William Fulbright in International Perspective'

Neal R. Allen, assistant professor of political science and pre-law advisor at Wichita State University and 1998 graduate of DePauw University, will be one of the presenters at a symposium being presented this week by J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and the Diane D. Blair Center of Southern Politics and Society at the University of Arkansas.  Allen will present his paper, "Segregationism and International Statesmanship: How White Supremacy Empowered and Limited the Influence of J. William Fulbright," which "will complement his current research on 'The Power of the Segregationist One-Party South in National Politics: Civil Rights in the Career of J. William Fulbright'," notes an announcement.

Dr. Allen is one of 17 scholars from around the world who will participate in the September 1-2 conference, "J. William Fulbright in International Perspective: Liberal Internationalism and U.S. Global Influence." The sessions will explore Fulbright's foreign policy legacy.

A political science major and history minor at DePauw, Allen earned a Master of Arts and doctorate in political science from the University of Texas.
